The New Jersey State Safety Council Defensive Driving Course was the first course approved by the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission in 1964 (MVC formally known as the DMV) that will remove 2 violation points from your NJ driving record and up to 10% off your auto insurance policy. Most commonly asked questions about NJ Defensive Driving Courses You can only take one NJ defensive driving class once every five years for a 2 point license reduction and once every three years for an insurance discount. Even if you have no violation points drivers are guaranteed by NJ Law an insurance discount by taking our course.
